I'm about to start building my new sq system, and i have the option to buy a hole F#1 system, all the gear is new. Dvi-9990, PXI-H990, 3 way speaker set SPX-Z18T , 2 v900 amps and the f1 screen i'm going to use a singal type x 12 and a pdx1.1000 for the sub. Has anyone used this gear at all, any comments about any of it. Befor anyone askes, the gear is not hot and im not telling what im getting it for.

Its very good stuff, speakers are in the top 2-3 for sure... Made by Scan
Speak. PHI H990 Is the best of the best, IMO for the right price its your best bet.

A great system, superb detail and clarity, top notch build quality. There is nothing to complain about. Some F#1 owners felt the previous editions DSP was superior, I dont buy that, that but I do know this one is more neutral and retrieves more information from the CD or DVD. The only negative is price, you want the best you have to pay for the best, now that Alpine has discontinued the F#1 they can be had for A LOT LESS. Buy it, but install it well

I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.

I agree with John.

F1 is about as good as it gets in car audio. I can't think of a single system that I would use over the F1.

Make sure you install it well. And get help with the setting of the DSP. The biggest flaw in the system is it's flexibliity (if put in the wrong hands).

Well I only hope I can install it well, but the guys I work with at my shop should be able to help with that. In the 8 months I have been there I have seen them put in 2 f1 systems and plenty of other high-end gear. I do intend on doing all the work my self, including most of the tuning. And I really want to enter SQ comp, that’s my main reason for buying this gear. I still dont know weather to compete in iasca or usac I always believe go big or go home. There’s a guy at my shop that does know what he’s doing when it come to tuning (at least that’s what the judges say), he’s just a dick sometimes. Any one with install tips would be great. Oh ya this system is going in a 96 240sx and I’m gutting the interior and building it to how I want it.

I'm in Kelowna BC. Im sure some of you may know one person from my shop and i just wanna say now that i want to have no relation with him. I just happen to work for him. if you dont know the person with whom i speaking of i dont want to say his name so please dont ask. I was talking to the guys in my shop today and the keep saying i cant hope to make a good sounding car, they tell me i'm too inexpreinced. So nothing would do me more joy then to throw it in there faces and build a truly amazing sounding car. So again any tips are alwas welcome.

Lets add some more. I started pulling my car apart sunday, took out the back seats and i found somthing i didnt want to. right where i wanted to mount my sub i found the box that controls the airbag system. So does anybody have any ideas on where to move it or if i can move it and not brake any SQ rules

lol - It sounds like you're working at Andre's.

If so, and you don't want to or can't use the shop as a resource then I suggest you track down Scott Buwalda of Hybrid Audio and kiss his ass until blue in the face. He has likely forgotten more about how to make a 240 sound good than anyone else will ever know
