Well ya i work for dave. I hope no one holds that against me. but it is the best shop in town. And ya crazy deal some stuff right from alpine. but i'm still got a buget for about $10,000 when i said and done. i'm trying to keep it down to $8000 will see how much the upholstery will cost me in the end.

And does anybody know anything about after market seats for my car. I think i want racing seats but will i have to custom some mounts for them. I would rather buy new seats than recover the ones i have.

most after market seats come with mounting brackets that are drilled for several applications, there isnt a whole lot of variation in seat bolt patterns lol, so as long as you get mounts you should be fine, and the most you would have to do is drill a few holes in the mounting rails for the seats, other then that they should just bolt in, one thing to watch for is whether or not the bracket slides, alot of seat companies offer a cheap bracket and a more expensive bracket the cheap one is usually solid mount, no sliding.

as for racing seats, i personally bought myself a pair of these

(i cant post URL's cuz i have under 5 posts, but it was 240$ for the pair!, pm if you want the link)
they aren't bucket seats, but hell they are cheap, good quality fabric and fairly comfy (for racing seats)

i was thinking for the door rip, could you possibly stretch the vynl back and use a small amount of glue to hold it, but you will still have a small like tear, but hey it would be a cheap sol'n and look better than unfixed

keep us updated!! you got quite the budget too, im curious to see the final result!

Well here’s the next update for everyone who has been reading. Well let’s start with the seats. I like the way those look civic01 I will pm you about them. In a seat though I want ones with sliders and recline ability. Yes they do have them out there I have seen them but I don’t know where. The reason I asked about the bracket, and I will have to take a pic later to show what I mean, is the inside rear bolt hole dose not bolt the seat to the floor, but to the side of the hump where the drive train is. That’s why I wanted to find one I didn’t have to worry about. I don’t really want too cheap out on seats because I got a picky @$$ and it likes soft and comfy. But saving money is a good idea.

Speaking of MONEY. The shit hole where the money flows too opened today for real. I bought my first parts of real equipment. Well actually I financed it 6 months no pay no interest. Joys of working at a shop with some corporate backing. I pick up (or pulled out) my F#1 deck and Processor. Models DVI-9990 and PXI-H990 these are not the first generation F#1 deck and Processor this is the set that you MUST pair together to work. Now not my first choice I would Rather have the old one cause it used a optical input and could be used with any deck, but being they are so hard to find and everyone who knows what there doing is asking a fair price (witch I don’t want to pay) I went with these 2. And by spec it is better, so I’m told. The big down side to this one is no TV, that why, if you read the rest of this thread I’m mounting the deck up hi and I want to put a screen down where they dual din slot is for the decks factory location.

Well I also got one more part of my system that was not planned. We just happened to have are big Xmas staff party on Saturday. And guess what I won. I got a Samsung 23 LCD. Well-being I used to work at future shit I already have every toy I need (except my car) so I don’t really know what I’m going to do with. I really want to add motorization to my system for show points so I’m floating the idea of mounting the TV I my trunk and have it rise up and out of the floor. Will see if that actually happens.

Any way that’s all that’s new. I'm taking the car into the shop on Friday and I’m going to sound deaden it for about 2 days straight. Only stopping to go DJ at night (that my real job this car stuff is just fun for me). Hope to see more comments. Here are the pics of the stuff.

Well everybody I did some more work. mostly just the sound deadening. and oh boy lots of it. I'm not done yet, the doors need like 3 more layers and i need more expanding fome to seal the trunk from the cab. but all the roof and under carpet and back area is done. I put in just shy of 100sq feet so far and i expext to put in about 50 more. I havnt even touched the trunk yet. But see as theres not componets going in there anyway, i was told to hold off going crazy with the b-quite for now in the trunk.(b-quite is the brand of sound deadening i used). I will add some later but not to the extent i did in the car. Also I think i change my sub layout ait. the sub box in going in the pass thur area. doing that will mean the subs are not going to be so close to my head, less mechical nosie and more room for the wave form to devlope. I'm not a big fan of cuting strutur, So i thing i might go with 2 10 inch type x subs now in a sealed box, origialy i was going todo 1 12 in a ported box but unless i cut metal in the back dash i cant do that anymore. well i could if i did 2 ports and put them up the holes where the the old rear spekers used to be. Will see what happens when i start building the box. First thoe I'm building the dash this week i hope and getting the deck in place.
Heres some pics more pic and work to come later
