Well This is my plea for help, and i just fell like sharing.
I dont know exacly what gear i'm putting in but i'm pretty sure its going to be all alpine f1 see my other thread (have u used alpine f#1 gear). My car is a 96 240sx and I want to enter it in SQ comp. after doing some more reading i think i will build it to USACi rules. I dont know them all yet. if you see me doing anything wrong please tell me. First off i'm just going to start with the basic like retarted amount of sound deading and wireing. I also doing some work to the inside like new seats and stuff so u will see some of that too.

I just started sunday night with my comp sq install first step was to gut the car. well its ****ing cold out and i dont get to work in a shop all the time so it might be kinda slow the next couple of weeks. Ran into my first bump in the road and i'm got the back seats out. I found i nice little box. Now from what I know Yellow loom and yellow e tape mean AIR BAGS. so I'm pretty sure that what this box controls. anybody got an idea where to move it. also I go these rips in my door panel i want to get fixed. anybody know what i would use or what kinda shop i should take it to, to get fixed. I dont want anything in this car to look shoty. I want is show ready when its done.

You should get yourself into Andre's in Kelowna. Tell Dave that Dukk sent you by - it should get a chuckle out of him

Ok so I just read you're other thread and maybe yer not going to get much help out of Dave-O...

Why do you need to move the air bag controller?

You could look for a vinyl repair guy in the yellow pages to fix your doors but it would likely cost as much as new ones or just recover them / have them recovered.

Well i just happen to work there but more than anything i want to do this car myself, i dont want people looking at it and going oh another andreas install. dave will help a bit, prob not until it comes to tuning.

as far as moving the air bag controller, I have had a vision. . I want to try and fit the hole stereo in the cab of the car, amps, subs processor, everthing. I have a plan for the trunk so anyway I think of mounthing a singal sub right there in the middle. dont know how yet. but that another thing i trying to figure out. how to mount it center and get the best sound out of it. hell i havn't even decided what type of box will be best.

I think i might want to get them recovered the guys at my shop didn't help much with that. plus i'm modding the door panel quit a bit i dont want rips to stund out like the sore thumb they are now.

Well I got up today and desided to work on mr car again. I got lots done. I started off removing the center consol and worked my way up the dash. evertherthing came out night and easy. well my cars a virgin the only thing that has ever been done to it is swaped out the facorty deck for some pos jvc (japanes vacume cleaner) anyway back to the center dash. I'm moving the ac controls down to the place where the cig lighter and ash tray used to be and in its place i plan on mounting the deck. i wanna put it up there cause i plan on putting a screen right in the place of where the decks used to be. I thing i will use on of the apline head rest kits for this. the second monitor will be built into a pod with i plan on mounting infront of the pasanger below the air bag. more on the deck as you can see in the pic it will stick out a bit but some body filler will fix that. the guys at my shop said to iso mount the deck so i think i will use the factory mouting points for the ac controls to mount it. The deck will also sit on this pipe that i thionk is part of the cars frame so i'm going to leave it be and work around it.

Enough with ere center. Today i also got the headliner out. easy getting it down but i never new it was going to be such a problem getting it out the door. hahahaha the think that took longer than anything. i alos got the a pillers off and the b and c piller covers too. I took all those parts along with the sun visors to this little gandma and grandpa upholstery shop. crossing my fingers they do a good job. I told them not to rush it cause the cars still no where near ready. so they said about 1 1/2 weeks. I liked the way the woman talked she seamed to know what shes doing. I chose this black fabric they had looks nice enough. they quoted me 350 for all of it plus taxes. i didnt thik it was too bad. i will just have to see when its all done. I still dont know it the back seat area where the subs and amps will go will get wraped or painted. i'm playing it buy ear and see how it turns out.

and i also pulled all the panles out of the trunk today. that was easy. i was going to start sounded deading everything but i thing i'm going to wait untill the cars completly empty and then drive it down to the shop and do that where its nice and warm. i worried about it not sticking with it so cold out. and I need to give it a good vacume too. I still dont know if i'm going to bother buying a new carpet whats anybody think? worth the money?

well I think that about it for new stuff. any comments are welcome of again if you see me doing somthing wrong tell me please. will see if i get more done on the weekend but not sure who knows maby even tomorrow.
