i was thinking of trading in my 15in for 2 10's. part of the reason is the wiring options you get with 2 subs, i can go from 3 ohms to 1.5. now my question is, if i wire 2 10in 600rms sub in parallel so its down to 1.5 ohms would i need a 1 ohm stable amp? how much power does that amp need to make?

yes you should get a 1 ohm stable amp. You'll probably need somewhere around 1500-1600 watts at 1ohm to get 1200 watts at 1.5 ohm.

I was thinking of doing the same thing..my i emailed bassworx and they have no boxes for 15s..im tired of making them because I'm never happy with them. They suggested I downgrade to a 12" or 2... where would you trade in your sub and get the 10s?

I think you're better off trying to sell the sub privately and use the money towards your 2 10's. Personally, I would get someone to build me a box for the 15 if I couldn't myself. Anyway, great subs, so it should sound really good when you're all done.

Two tens don't have much output. Take a single 15" and power it properly, and it will blow away the two 10's. Cone surface area alone of a 15" is like 2.6 worth of tens, so it would take three tens to beat it in output, and then you have to be able to power the three properly. The only thing I like about the tens is that they don't rattle the car as much, and hit like little cannons. Also, getting a single 15" is much more cost efficient. The problem with this JBL is that it can not work at a lower impedance than 3 ohms, if I am not mistaken. I would buy something like a 15" or 18" Fi Q, seal it for more trunk space, run it low impedance, and get something like Sundown SAZ1500 amp to run it at 1ohm. I am quite sure you will like this much better than two 10's idea.
