On the finishing stages of my install and I need to upgrade my deck power and ground wires. I've aquired 10 gauge power and ground and wanted to know if:

#1-going to the Battery directly Fused?
or
#2 tapping off my 2gauge power wire - Fused (easier to install) that feed my amps?

Thanks

Julian

personally I'd try to find an unused fuse slot in the fuse holder, much cleaner.

I agree - Can I get away with using the amps power wire (and avoid noise) since it's ran down the center console 14inches from the deck?

This way I can do it after the comp this weekend?

Cheers MTT

I just don't see how you'd effectively splice 10awg into a 2awg, in theory theres no problem with it, but theres so many other power sources right there in the dash, or maybe I'm just not picturing exactly what you mean.

It's just me being lazy and not wanting to do it correctly. I'll run it to the batt - fused and dress it up with some loom.

Thanks MTT - if your at the show on Sun come by and say hey - Orange Honda FIT 2007 - Julian

I used the power wire for my amps. Basically split the rubber housing in two and wrapped the wire around it...soldered and elec taped - Totally hidden and no noise. Hell of a lot easier then going to the batt and cleaner to boot!

Cheers
