that's kind of strange. they have a lower xo point with a 6db/oct filter. Usually you want the steeper slope the lower the xo point...to protect the tweeter. I've gone as low as 1500 hz with a 30db/oct xo...didn't sound good anyway, but the tweeter was fine for weeks at normal listening levels. I've eventually settled at factory settings, just active instead of passive. I guess the engineers know something!

Dude, couple things.. your original post said your have VRS. The sound domain "press release" you link to is for VR Which ones do you have?

Also, go to the Focal website for info - you know the guys that make your speakers.

http://www.focal.tm.fr/

They have great full tech documents on the drivers etc..

Let us know which speakers you actually have, then we can go from there.

ok box says 165vrs, so lets go with that, i used the angle mount pod on the window sills. the tweeting is inverted dome. im thinking of 3500HZ at 18db/oct and doing 80hz-3500hz on the mids.

this is how i have it wired.

deck RCA -to- Alpine mrd-m1005
Mrd-M1005 Output -to- Audio control 2xs input
Audio Control 2xs outputs -to- Mrv-F545 inputs

-the mrd m1005 output isnt affected by the crossover settings on the amp is it? when i get another 2xs i will do it diffrently but does everyone think its ok the way im doing it?
