| I am running the old F1 processor with full F1 front staging with center channel and using the F1 amp to drive it all. Know anyone who could give me some pointers on tuning such a system? Sorry it is the 3 way front F1 speaker system. |

| Are you the dude who was working part-time at Andre's and picked up all their old stock F#1 stuff off the board? If so, I'm sure you know Dave O there has a ton of experience tuning those kind of systems, but if you are on your own with it you should know and respect the fact that you have a TON of processing power available to you. The most important thing to know about that statement is you may not need to use any or a large part of it. I would hope and expect you have some knowledge of basic system tuning so that what I say next won't lose you. This is what I would do in a nutshell if I had that kind of system:
- get everythign hooked up and working
- set your amp gains first. Put them all at the middle sensitivity position as a starting point
- make sure all of the EQ and time-alignment settings are off
- since you have a 3-way front end and a sub, choose your basic xover settings at 80 Hz on sub @ 24 db slope, midbass set at 80 hz highpass at 18 db slope and 400 Hz lowpass at 12 db slope, midrange at 400 Hz highpass at 12 db slope and 3500 Hz lowpass at 12 db slope, tweet at 3500 Hz highpass at 18 db slope
DISCLAIMER TO THE SQ TWEEKS: these are basics to start from. If the guy has no clue where to start setting his system at, this gives a starting point. If you are all up in arms about it, go read some online tweeter reviews to chillax
- listen for tonality first and adjust gains, then xover points, slopes and THEN maybe EQ. Don't worry about imaging and soundstage quite yet. Get it working tonally first.
- adjust gains first to get the overall levels of each speaker balanced properly ie. turn the sub down if too loud or simply lower the xover point to say 50 Hz. That kind of thing.
- everybody has a different method but you so many different ways to tackle this. I would go from simple to complicated.

| SUX has some good advice, I have one as well. I suggest making sure you save your settings every time. It likes the over-ride your old settings. Also ask Andre's to get you the f1 software, it way easier to use. I might have a copy...

| Thanks guys, no don't work there never have. Most of my stuff is new but I did by some off the board. Not sure if Dave will tune it as it may be a conflict of interest as he is a judge at local comps. I am new to this and I know the F1 stuff can do just about anything , but also very costly and want to do well if not win, as everyone else does I'm sure. Thanks for the help hope to see you guys in person one day. I will have the killer Galant ridin on 20's so you won't miss me. |

| Also the guys there convinced me to go all Alpine and we are running 2 Type X 12's in the trunk, do you think this is enough to go DB draging as well? Running 1000w mono to EACH sub. I believe they will be sealed boxes though. |

| Hey Everyone reading this thread. I'mn the guy who works party time at andrea's and Yes i got an F1 system. jathrobuck's is getting built alot fater than mine. so i know you will see it this season. Mine i hope to have done for this season. Just thought i would let everyone know exaclty what he's running to help give him some advise. We do plan to tune it as much as we can but Jath will be driving it and get to hear it alot more than we will. like said befor the older f1 proccesor is running the system. I will i could have got one, I bought the new one, yes off the board but everthing else i have is new. back to Jathrobuck's car. its all alpine front to back like mine, so i will use alot of alpine model numbers. a w205 for the head unit. the old f1 proccessor. 1 3way f1 set for his front sound satge. also got his hands on another set to get the tweet and 4 out of it for the center. type x ref 6 1/2 comp for the rear. 2 type x 12's for the bottom end. 1 f900 amp(f1 amp) for the front mid's and tweets(there active). 2 pdx1.1000, one for each sub, 2 pdx 4.150's. 2 channels on each of the 4.150's are running the 7 inch midbass in the door's the other 2 channels on one amp is for the rear's (there passive) and the last 2 channels are bi amped to the f1 passive to run the tweet and 4 in the center. I think that about it. oh ya the boxes are sealed for the sub's
