Well gee, let me appologize for everyone that hasn't showed up to compete at a show because they have more important things to do.

Not everybody can make it to every show unfortunatly and just because they miss one show does not mean they are all talk and no action.

If you were talking to Steve Head and he said he was gonna be at a show and he didn't make it, all of a sudden means he's just talking Sh*t?

Some people have lives outside of competition and car shows man....sorry, it's the sad truth and I wish I could have broke the news to you easier but, believe it or not there's more important things to do than car shows(sometimes).

And SQ is like Rock and Roll.....It'll Never Die!

Wow...I think the one thing people are missing is the fun factor. One thing we all have in common is the love for car audio. Alot of people on this board talk about SQ, and never come to comps. That's fine. Competiting is not for everyone. There are classes in IASCA SQ comps that are for people that have a single 12 and an amp. A that's it, it so every level of competitor can have fun, educate themselves and exchange ideas about SQ. Even if people do not compete, it would be fantanic if they came to the comps to exchange ideas and have fun. Even just come out, look around maybe have a beer with boys and talk face to face, sho yur ride, share ideas...

Some people might talk the talk but not walk the walk. To add to there creditablity to themselves should compete or at least make an effort. It's only my opinion...cheers

</font>[/quote]They didn't miss 1 show, they didn't come to any. I managed to go to 7 shows this year. If someone is into SQ or DB i'm sure they could have found 1 show to go to. and yes, audio shows aren't the most important thing in the world. But it is a great passtime and hobby.

And who are "they"? And are "they" to "dumb"?

With most (I think all?) of the IASCA shows being in alberta, that wouldn't have anything to do with the number of shows you hit??

Just because someone is into SQ doesn't mean there into IASCA.

Why would you say that if your into SQ or DBDrag you should have found at least one show to go to.

I'm into Jeep's and 4x4's but that doesn't mean I have to show up at a Jeep Jamboree.

This is turning into a conversation for the school yard.

"well if you don't go to this show your full of sh*t and your not cool"

Gimme a break.

I didn't say that. Everyone knows that you've competed. The beef was with people that always talk about shows that they will attend and never do. We had alot of DB and SQ shows in Alberta, and for those people to never show is the problem. Calm down and don't get offened unless you are someone who constantly said you would be at these shows, and never came.

SQ and SPL have similarities; both cost a good chunk of change to be competitive and to win you have to know what you're doing and be well prepared. But the presentation at a competition is vastly different between the two. You don't see a bunch of guys sitting/jumping on the front window and roof of the car during judging and then huge cheers and hi fives going on after an SQ car is judged. SPL is judged quicker, larger fun factor for the competitors and the people in attendance and it doesn't have as many rules/criteria. I'd toss out that it's easier/simpler to get involved in SPL then it is to get involved in SQ AND be competitive.

SQ is like a wine tasting event at a fine restaurant. SPL is like a crowded pub full of beer guzzlers and hot women. And it's harder to get into that fine restaurant crowd then it is to get into the bar crowd. So where would you want to go????
