| The same kind of crap that is in beef... Good to hear about choosing Coustic, they are a good old reliable brand that very few people consider these days. I'm considering bringing in the line myself.

| ^ You should. I've supported Coustic for 12 years and they have never disappointed me.
Hell, I still have a working AMP-560 and if it wasn't wider than my car I would use it! |

| SUX 2BU, the difference is very small. To some it would be inaudible. To my ears, the music is minutely smoother. It's not dramatic, it's a detail...a small one. To be honest, you would reap more rewards optimizing other areas of your system with the money. But if everything else is as good as it can get...it's a nice detail.
Tom is absolutely right, these amps will not make a crap install sound good.

| Thank-you.
A lot of people with their heads up their butt about big dollar components. Three's all this talk about spending big dollars and blah, blah, blah. And then some actually do spend it and then put it in a $5 install. Very few spend the big dollars on expensive gear and get the proper install to match because it costs a ton of cash to play at that level. I've seen so many people that would be better off with solid Coustic (for Example) level gear with a good install and they'd be a hell of a lot happier with what they INVESTED their cash in. | Adam, would you say the ARC XXK's are a better value than the Audison VRx's? I've heard so many oppinions about the XXK's and ARC amps in general....some people say it would be a better value to get Zapco C2K's and some people swear by the ARC amps. I haven't heard the XXK's yet. |

| ^^^Yes the Arc XXKs are a better value than the Audison VRxs.
I haven't heard any Zapco amps in my system, so I don't feel qualified to pass jugdement on them.
In general, you will pay more than double the price per watt for a VRx versus XXK amp. The law of deminishing returns applies here. For features, I don't believe there is any other amp on the market that can rival the VRx amps, but you pay for that. A LOT.
In general, I feel that I could have purchased product on the open market at about half the cost of my current set up, and only taken a %10 hit in SQ. You pay through the nose for that last 10%.
I'm keeping the XXK 4150 in my system with my other Audison amps. In the future I expect to have more Arc Audio product in my car, based on my current experience.
XXK is bang for the buck...absolutely...but the quality is there too.

| Ok, then here's my next question.
I still may go with an Audison amp of some kind...the VRx is WAY too expensive, I didn't realize they were that much.
But, should I choose to go with ARC XXK's, what would be the best way to go?
ARC does not make a 6 channel amp wich kinda sucks, but it opens up a couple of options.
Now the two combo's I was thinking of are this: a 5150 to run the midrange/tweets and subs and a 2050 to run midbass.
Or 2 4150's.....my only question is can I bridge the back channel of one of the 4150's to run my subs and still have the 2 front channels running midbass? |
