| Hello one and all.
In light of what some scumbags did to my system, i am not redoing the system like i had it planned. however, i do need basic sound in the car for the summer, so i need some decent tweets. something affordable though. another part of the criteria is that it must be less than 2 " wide, which given the reproduction duties (5Khz and above) should not be a problem.
what have you big boys had positive experience with?

| I use the Macrom EX tweeters, Lee Casey (USACi World Champion) told me he loves the sound of my mids and tweets. There only 1 inch by 3/4 deep...

| Plow,
let me rephrase the $ criteria.
you must be able to withstand a blow to the head with the stack of $1 bills it takes to purchase these tweets. if i follow your recommendation, and hit you with that stack, i will give you permanent brain damage!

| Marco, I don't see any problem with getting the Rainbows....sell the car, buy the speakers.

| Plow, from the frequency response graph, and my personal experience with the XT25 in my car, the scan speak tweeter doesn't work well off axis. The "ring radiator" works very well ON AXIS, but when you tilt it you lose the top end very rapidly.
If you were planing on using them pointed directly at the listener at all times, great tweeter. Off axis....not so great.

| hmmm...
i have different experience with d2905/990000. Because i dont have alot of space in the car and because the twet is so big, i install it on the door ( on top of the factory speaker )and guess what the result is amazing. even eddie (chinaman) surprise when he listen to the twet. so in my opinion the 9900000 or even the 700000 will work great off axis. |

| It's the 700000 that I'm refering to not working well off axis. Nick Wingate has experimented with them in his beetle before putting in the Focal TLRs. Then he changed to a pair of Focal Berylium tweeters built for car audio use.(Only 8 pairs were built for car audio in the world)
I have no experience with the 990000, so I'll have to take your word for it.
I'm going to have to hear this car of yours someday PLOW!!
Marco, I may have a set of TN-51s available.

| Adam,
i've heard the same about the 700000. either way, that's a tweet only for the likes of plow. i dare not spend that much cash on a tweet... unless i trade the car for it.
what are you looking to get for those Focal's?
Plow, i will be calling you very soon!
Westec, what's the equivalent Morel tweet?
