Ok Here is what I am looking at
P9 combo
Iridium 6.2 ultimate Comp
Memphis 16-MC1000D
Memphis 16-MC3004

Now the subwoofer... I want to try and keep it stealthed in my g35. There is a space where the Blows amp sits as well as the side of my trunk. Being that bass is omnidirection does it matter if its a "funky" shape with my enclosure? On that note I would be powering it with the mc1000D and about 1.5 cuft. I will build the amp rack on the other trunk side.

Lol I have changed my build 15 times already BTW thanks for all the advice, now I just hope there are going to be some SQ competitions

Well the Focal 27WX only comes in a dual 4ohm model so using only one would be a waste of your amp meaning you would need two. Two of those would be nice.
Also look into keeping all your speakers the same brand by going with a pair of UR10 or 12's. Also a great choice.
Third, take a look at the Diamond TDX10 or 12. They can be had in a dual 2ohm model to match your amp and a single one could handle the power fine.
These three are in no particular order of choice but intended to give you some more choices. Good luck.

Well seeing as I have limited room as I want tokeep it as stock looking and useable as possible. I am looking at 1 sub with dvc 2 ohm and the smallest box possible. I am just picky

Thanks hardwrkr the diamond should be close to fitting my needs. Small enclosure and can handle 800 w rms (300 short) into a 1 ohm load. Unless there are any other suggestions...

The difference in output between 2ohm and one ohm on that amp would not make me sweat the Focal.

Its friday nigth and i have some free time so........I just took alook at the infiniti site to see the interior of your car.

A few things.

- any speaker mounted in a trunk will suffer if you don't have a good way to get that sound into the car. So going through the rear seat and rear deck leads to not very accurate bass reproduction, and lower output. Also the lowest freq's will suffer. Now on the g35 site it says the seat folds down so make sure you use this feature. It will make a differance. Also make sure that rear deck doesn't rattle in anyway That will draw your stage backwards.

-On the site the rear deck looks to be steel, with a little amount of holes in it. Have you thought about going infinite baffle instead of a sub box. With the rigth driver you will do very well. Just build a baffle behind the rear seat for the driver.and fold it down for sq comps. This way you'll gain a few things.
Space, and less weigth. Remove the rear deck mounted speakers and seal them with some wood, and deadner cover all the smaller holes. The more sealed the inside from the trunk is the better your sub will sound. Now you don't need to go crazy, just eliminate the major air passages betweem the two. And this is so easy to hide in your car

Thier are many great subs that will work IB. I use DLS 15's ....the SP15's. Scott Buwalda used 3 of the UR10's in this configuration (with the same front speakers as you are going to use) and has kicked serious butt. Both drivers work well in an ib config.

My comments/recommendations:

1: Good equipment list so far

2: Use an IB set up for your sub set-up

3: Use a pair of 12's of if you can fit a pair of 15's IB, if you can fit them. For Street SQ class you need 135db of SPL. also......

4: Using two large drivers will give you the ability to play those low low notes on the competition disks.(again another topic of why)

5: Build a really strong baffle to support the subs. A few things that will need to be looked at for building it
Diver size, driver weigth, and how it attaches to the car. If you have a small amount of wood with two big holes it it it's not going to be very strong. Remember its not just about holding up the drivers but you need to stop the driver from moving the baffle (baffle flex) as this will result in lost output. I recommend atleast 1 1/2 inches.

DLS makes a many drivers that will work ib
JL used to, but they have a few driver that will work
Image Dynamics makes driver that will work also
