| Hell no! I'm going by how happy I am with the Morel Dotechs I have right now -- which are the middle of the line. Actually there is a Dotech II series which is an improvement on the ones I have right now.
In any case, I've done some research and from what I've gathered so far, I don't think I'm taking that much of a chance. Morel is not some fly by night speaker manufacturer, but one of the few that spends a lot on R&D. I've also purchased the Elates because of their design - shallow mounting depth and the mids being the dome variety. This is going to be the last system I do. Audison LRX amps, Alpine F#1 Status (if it ever shows up), Now Morel speakers........ it's a far cry from my previous system that consisted of an Audiobahn sub and amp combo with Wildcat mids and no name tweets. Actually, that system did not sound bad at all. The Nak CD45Z held everything together and the Audio Control DQX/DDC setup helped bring out the best in the equipment - or is it the other way around - hee hee. Careful placement of the speakers helped out as well. Call it synergy, it was awesome for what it was.......... Do you remember the first system I had when I competed back in 90? Not the all Nak system I had toward the middle of the season, but the one that consisted of basically parts and pieces from pawn shops. Jeremy Fry - I think that was his name - thought the system was amazing - "magical" was the word he used. I kicked butt on systems costing ten times the amount. Ah, gone are the days..... it's much easier to just by the top of the line and hope for the best.
You know I'm going to be tweaking the hell out of this new system for the next fifty years, LOL. Oh, wait a minute.... that's you. j/k |

| uhmmm..... buying without listening! sounds smart...
Yes! I do remember Jeremy Fry (Audio Control & Monster Cable Rep back then near the late "80s")
If the system is done right from the beginning..... you will not need very much time to tweak it at all! From experience.. dialing in the speaker is pretty much the whole battle.(no eq). and if you do a real good job on the install.. (tweaking x-over, minimize reflections & resonance etc)...... you might not need a eq all together. and your signal is more pure... you'll benefit from high-end head unit more.. This is the Audiophile level approach to the systems I build now a days. Its way more musical & alive. But the trick is in the install not the eq.

| Well it's been said that Focal and Audison are like a match made in heaven........ just want to prove otherwise.
Hopefully, I'll have everything hooked up by Timmy's show. Are you planning on coming out?
I'm warning you though, the install is going to be fugly..... no competition vehicle, that's for sure. Besides, the system is for me to enjoy and nobody else. Heck, I might even let Sweetnlow91sc have a listen - though he'll just end up finding a 1001 problems with the sound. hee hee
I can't wait, I can't wait, I can't wait......... for F#1 Status (DVD Audio). |

| focal and audison do go well together but they are distributed by the same company so it kinda figures that they want you to use both there choice of speakers and there choice of amps
ive allways found genesis amps and focal speakers a very very good combination rainbow speakers seem to match audison amps very well also |
