Garage Storage Organization and Garage Cabinets

Hey guys, I have, or had rather a Pioneer Premiere 960MP. sadly it is no longer working, and given the way it was brought to this point, the damages are not covered under waranty.

I am looking at the Clarion DXZ955MC, but cannot find any reviews on the unit. Anyone care to comment on it, or suggest a comparabe unit, with features like the Clarion. I was more than happy with the 960mp, but instead of getting the same one, figured I'd get something new.

Never considered an high-end Eclipse deck?

Good product, good reputation, really good warranty and the most important, excellent sound.

I have the same amps as you with an Eclipse CD8053 (2003 model). Can't ask for more.

I love my Eclipse 8053! I don't have too much experience with other decks though (just some older ones), so I'm not much help.

I have a few friends with Eclipse units, and I have heard nothing but great things. My only problem is that with all the SQ goodies I want a motorized face. laugh all you want, but I want it. I guess the search continues....

If you really liked the DEH-P960MP, the DEH-P860MP is the same unit with the single mootorized face instead of the dual motorized face.
One major difference is that the DEH-P860MP uses the Rotary Commander which makes navigation MP3/WMA files very, very easy.

I looked at that unit before I got the 960, and honestly the cosmetics made up my mind for me. I have owned the 8400, and the 960mp, so I really want something other than pioneer.

Ah why has nobody sugested Alpine I've had lots os Alpine decks never a problem and sound is unbeliveable

Eclipse has several models with motorized faces.

Eclipse has several models with motorized faces. </font>[/quote]I have never owned an eclipse unit myself, so from looking over the features off their website, either meskimming over them missed the motorization part, or they just don't list it in the main features list.

I just went back to Eclipse' site, and after digging into the features spec sheet, I guess it's only the 5415, and the 5405 that don't have "Full face tilt..."

but above all that, I am not to happy with the cosmetics. Thats my number 1 problem with alpine, not so much the cosmetics of the HU, but more their menu system. I owned an Alpine 9833 for a few months, and the menu system is horrible. I hated it. and I guess that has really turned me off from alpine, and as long as I can get another quality unit, that accomplished all the SQ goodness that I need / want, then I turn to the cosmetics to make up my mind.
