whenever i blast my stereo after a certain volume my tweeters start to pop...any advice to fix this problem?

I tried adjusting my mid's and it helps a bit but not drastically..

I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.

perhaps too much distortion at high levels......... just think what playing music loud does to your ear drums.

are u running the tweets off of deck power or are they amplified. very often this happens when you don't have enough clean power. such as deck power!

The posts above give good advice, if none of the above solves the problem, contact the dealer or search the internet to find out if other people with the same tweeters are running into similar problems - it might just be a faulty tweet. By reading reviews and posts about my own front speakers I see that they have unfortunately developed a quick history for blown tweeters (keeping my fingers crossed).

What are you running them with anyway? Some head units and amplifiers are very sharp sounding and it is possible that one or both of yours are pushing the tweeters too hard.

Yes,

The posts have been excellent and I thank everyone for coming up with suggestions!

I am running components Alpine Type s's off of an amp..so i don't believe it's not enough clean power..i am thining it may be the crossovers...i'll do what fat mat suggests and search forums to see if anyone else has this problem with type s's...

Are you sure its not the mid popping. I know it may sound silly but I have seen many mids pop and people thought it was the tweeter.
