| haha,
little rough Mr. gumby.
I'm doing this because I really enjoy learning about car audio.. and when someone else does it it just isn't the same.
I saved over a hundred dollars by installing it myself. I learned tons of new information and I actually know stuff about car audio now..
If I was the same old jackass who went and got someone else to do it, I wouldn't even know what to do If my crossover settings got changed by a friend. or where to look if a speaker stops playing.
Thanks for your slight attempt at helping though! |

Thanks for your slight attempt at helping though! | its great that you have the ambition to do it yourself, I respect you for that... just bear in mind that if you are blowing stuff up in the process its not saving you much, That was the only point I was trying to make. sorry for coming across so hard.. just played with this stuff so long now that I forget what it was like when I first started doing it.
again the key to any good system is its install, take your time, plan things out, and read the mauals. That will be the key to a great sounding, trouble free system! And if you don't know... ask people are here to help! |

| yeah, we all f**ked up something in the beginning. I fried a $20.00 Pyramid amp in 1984, that was my first install attempt, and I'm sure I've put a screwdriver through a few cones. Even when you know what you're doing, you still screw up on occasion. Anyway, good luck with the tweeter, and let us know what you ended up doing.

| keep an eye on ebay, that may be your best bet. what kind of shape is the other tweeter in, I only ask this because you were playing them so low, and it caused the one tweet to blow, it just makes me wonder if the other is on its last legs as well. IMO your best bet is to just get a pair of tweets just to be safe, you don't want to only buy one, then after 10 mins the other one grenades. |

| yea, I'm def buying a pair..
I'm also worried about my other little friend.. with the cross set at 200hz.. I turn it up real loud and it doesn't distort at all.. but I'm still replacing it.. because I probly did cause damage to it
I'm looking at the Canadian site Veeman sent me to.. then have a danish company that looks interesting.. Tymphany -Vifa I believe..
I'm Danish so I kind of thought it would be cool to try that out.. I just need to find the right tweets that are close to my alpines. |

The first and only main concern that comes to mind, is find out what the crossover settings on the crossblocks are, just make sure that it is not lower than what the new tweets are able to play to. |
