hey guys, im getting a pair of visionik components
which consist of a 6 1/2 mid bass a 3" and a 1" tweeter
now i wanna mount the midbass where my stock 6x8 would be sitting
and the 1" tweeter on the door panel tilted towards the person sitting
and mount the 3" on the A- pillar....

i wanna run this off my alpine deck which is 23 rms per channel until
i can get a decent set of components...will this be sufficient?
and do i simply wire the midbass to the stock wires and then the rest to the crossovers?

thanks

Stock wires to the crossover input and then all the drivers from the crossovers. It will sound like dog poo without being amped however, you need much more power than the deck for a component set to come to life, in particular a three way set. Distortion is going to be a problem. I would be looking for a good deal on an amp if I were you. Have a look see in the for sale section, you will be surprised what you can pick up in there for a bargain.

yea...thats pretty much what i tought at the beginning however the fact
that its a super low entry model set and a beefy deck just raised the hope
it would deliver some sq....i just want something better then stock 6x8s

It will sound half decent until you try to crank it up, then your deck's amp will start to clip causing the speakers to badly distort. Even bargain component sets need decent power, usually more than they are even rated for, provided everything is set up correctly. If your deck has a high pass filter try setting it at about 100hz and that will help a little as well.

I always see shit speakers needing more rms , it must be because of the shitty quality build of the driver. Anyways, def must need an amp for your comps, can't run them with low power, I had a deck that outputed 35rms, and even that was borderline for the comps.. didnt run them loud, but was clear all the way up.

lol...what kinda deck was that?

i feel like a noob asking these kinda questions...its always been common sense for me
to run components to an external amp...but when my time to grab a set comes
lol i get quite curious
