i usually love my big boomy bass, couple of 15's or some tuff 12's and im a happy camper...i had my stereo stolen and never quite got back to where i was, right now im sitting with 2 kicker cvr 10's in a sealed box paired with a PG rsd 600.1 running at 2 ohm

which is fine for now..i miss the bass but these are adequate for my DD...i just couldnt turn down the subs 60$ for the two in a sealed prefab box...bass is fine for now like i said eventually will change as im not that impressed with the kicker...well i am for the price

anyways, i like my music moderatly loud with quite a bit in the midbass..when i put on a rock or punk song and when the double kicks come on i like to feel every drum beat in my chest so to say, so im thinking i should put some focus in the midbass area...now i dont think i need tons, as anything over the stock speakers in my 1998 dodge durango would be an improvment

but just some opinions on what i should get too get closer to what i want to achieve

right now theres the stock 6 1/2 in front and back

some companies i can get dealer cost with is exile, hertz, and bazooka
audioson for amps

so obviously im leaning towards something in there because of the drastic difference in price, but if someone feels a nother product would be better im still open to options

thanks dan

To get what you are looking for I would suggest replacing your stock front door speakers with 6 1/2s, deaden the doors really well and run lots of power to them.

Listen to the Hertz components. I really like the Mille line but they may be a bit pricey.

Dealer cost is a terrific advantage. I would have to suggest that option. There is a reason that there's a big difference in price, quality. Audison/Hertz is a very popular combination out here, partly because they're distributed by the same company, but they also have a common denominator, quality.
Like Grep said, listen to them to determine which ones would be better for you.

Spend it upfront instead of the trial and error method.

I generally go with DIY products. In your case I would look for the Peerless, Max Fidelity and a few others. This can save you money and gain you performance in the long run. The Hertz product is good stuff and will give you the extra midbass your looking for, but it will come at a price.

considering what i want to do, im assuming the bass i want is in the 6.5

but 2 way vs 3 way for the components

im sure 3 way is the way to go for SQ, but for the bass I want to add can i get away with a good 2 way>?

The number of speakers in a car has little to do with how good it sounds. 2 Way system often sound better then 3 way becuase there is much less to screw up on. 3 way can be very hard to install and set up properly. The have gained more popularity in the last little while as some "SQ" cars are putting mids and tweets in the dash and midbass in the lower doors or kicks. I would take a good 2-way over 3-way any day.

Most 6-1/2" woofers will give you decent midbass. The hertz product is no exception. Great speakers.
