I should clarify what I said about type M. It IS acceptable in the Canadian code only for above-ground water distribution. It's not acceptable for any other potable system use and in BC, our plumbing code doesn't allow it on potable water systems at all.

I found that TSC (one in milton) has some cheap 2/0 connectors, like $2.00 for 2. But making your own gives you a sense of blood, sweat and tears into your system, or your a really cheap bastard :P lol jk..

I'll vote for the blood, sweat and tears program.....especially since I always seem to wind up wounding myself every time I do an install......

HA! :P yea im sure alot of people have done this, but i figured i would share, im not saying i invented it :P

if i knew TSC had them i prolly would have gone and bought them :P, but i couldn't find them and just gave up lol:P

and yes, making stuff youself is (to me at least) a lot more satisfying than buying it or paying someone else to do it.

gloves are a good idea :P

But wait, isn't that crimp completely "unacceptable".

Oh, and make sure you get some wire loom. Safety first :P

Seriously, good idea there. How thick was the copper pipe you used (not diameter, but thickness of hte copper itself)
