B-quiet is great, I have both my front doors done with just a single layer and had a very noticable difference. I had the same JL components in for 3 months before deadening and 1 month after. Could not believe they were the same midbass as before. So far no peeling issues at all so far, and it was chilly and drizzling while I was installing it.

The blue skin product that is available at home depot is not only used as a water proofing product. Which is used on cement foundations by the way not windows, it is also used as an industrial deadener. The "blue skin" is actually just a colour like dynamat has their name on the back of their product, some are black red or any colour you can think of, just depends on the manufacturer. As i said in a earlier post this is a butyl based product as is all the other "car audio" brands out their, they may have slightly different compositions of asphalts and rubbers and have different thicknesses but are basically all used for the same purpose. Is dynamat and all the other brands waterproof, i believe so, seeing as you do not want to put cork or foam in your door, something that will soak up water and fall apart. I have used and seen it used out west in the tar sands on piping, exhaust, intake and fan outputs to not only lower temperature, but noise aswell, for plants, factories and pipelines and the workers that are constantly sorrounded by them everyday. These products have been being used for over a few decades now, these butyl/rubber based products and i believe one day a contractor said to an old friend hey your car might not rattle so much if you try this stuff. And their is the birth of automotive sound suppression products. If you had to put on layers of it in a vehical to get the same effect as one layer of another you can never compare as some have deanser compostions, thickness and suppression ratings , 'blue skin" can be had in thicknesses and ratings of any kind at the request of the purchser. The only difference between dynamat and dynamat extreme is half an inch of more product. And the only difference between car audio deadener and "blue skin" is it is sold in different stores and one being very overpriced for what it is.

If your trying to stop rattles, putting a barrier between 2 things or securing them together is going to work, it doesnt matter if you use news paper, spray foam or special european industrial sound deadening. It will all stop rattles, there is no secret product to stop rattling.

If you are trying to stop sheet metal from rattle, you have to add mass to it. Find your product that can be applied, will stay and weights alot and you have a good product.
