UPDATE.

They called back even though I didn't leave a message and hung up on my machine. They also responded to my email...

Here's what they said:

"Well it may just be getting hot and backing off which is what it is supposed to do. With it being built up in the factory case it may just back off sooner. Our product would get you round 15v but does not override the alts safety feature. It would still back off if over worked just at a higher voltage. 15v is our standard voltage setpoint 14,4 v is to low to get a full battery charge and would defeat the purpose of a module.

Either application is available and 15v is the STD setpoint.
Ford shipped = $220
Dodge shipped = $242

Their number is on their website if anyone else is interested. I guess around 10:00 p.m. is a good time to get a hold of them. That's when they called me back. Stupid time zones... lol

You may not even have an issue. As alt was benched it worked fine. What may be happening, cause this is an HO alt, it charges everything superquick, and keeps it charged, so that there is no need to charge anything as all is topped up. The car computer may be limiting the voltage for the very reason as there is no need for it. And the system may not draw enough for the voltage to flactuate. Also HO alts always run at lower voltages. But if it would please you to have higher voltage, it may be a good idea to install that module Jalat mentioned, as you prolly have unregulated amp and wish to get the most out of them.

I have an idea. I think you may do a quick test and see what happens. Turn the car off, and run stuff from the battery reserve, so that it depletes a little, depending on what type of battery you have, you may go further or limit your test to avoid battery damage. Then turn the car on, and check the voltage right away, as your alt should strat charging the battery, and see if the computer boosts the voltage until the battery is topped up. I dont know, worth a shot?

Thanks Sasha, I'll try that out when I get everything back in.
