I am a noob. I have a budget system consisting of a Sony Xplod 1252GTR powering a 10" Visonik sub. The amp is connected to a JVC KD-G320. I want to add another 1252GTR amp and another 10" sub. Is it possible to take the RCA cable and send the left side to one amp and the right to the other, and the hook a sub to each amp by attaching the wire to the left positive/negative on one amp and on the other have set to the positive/negative right side? I am a noob and it is a budget system, any help would be muchly appriciated.

For this, you can use a pair of RCA "y" adapters to split the 2 RCA outs into four. If you only connect one RCA to the amp it would lose approx 3-6dB as oppose to having 2 connected.
A "y" adapter looks like --------> RCA Y adapter.jpg. You can get probably find these at futureshop or the source and they are very cheap. Hope this helps...

i recall my soney amps having a through channel on them..do yours?
If so then just go out and buy another set of rca's and connect the second amp that way to run your second sub.

That's great to hear. The next question I have is the wiring. What would the best way to do that? Can I just add another power wire to the one that's on the battery? and how do I attach the remote wire? Thanks for the help.

yes it is, just use two rca y-splitters to give both amps a stereo signal(which will be mixed mono when you bridge the amp). Follow the manufacturer's diagram for bridging the amps for your speaker output. Another way is if your amps have pre-amp outputs, just hook up your second amp to the first amp's outputs.

damn I keep replying late!!

I checked the specs on this particular model and unfortunately, it does not have loop-thru line outs..

yes you can do that, but it seems that you're getting into a few more components now, and you have been bitten by the car audio bug. I would suggest that you run a 0 awg wire to the rear and get distribution blocks for your power and ground wires. As for your remote, you may need to use a relay soon, as you have a number of components to turn on now. This will protect your head unit's remote out section, as well as provide enough current to properly turn on the amps...and whatever else you WILL be adding later.

I'm only going to have the two amps. What is the best way to connect the remote wire?

splice it! but do yourself a favour and fuse it with a small in line fuse(3 amp is more than enough). It will protect your head unit in case of an amp's power supply failure(can cause a current spike through the remote).
