When you install 2 amps, do have to run 2 remote wires or can you just splice of the other one?

its actually possible to splice up to about 4-5 times be4 signal is totally lost in the wire.. unless you are using about 20 guage wire.

The issue is not about losing signal but too much current draw. A typical deck remote lead can't give much more than 200mA of power. Each amp requires around 75 mA to fire up. Once you exceed that amount of current, you could cause the deck to go into protect mode (If you are lucky) or fry the remote lead on the deck if you are unlucky.

Remember to fuse the remote lead with a small inline fuse (1.5 amps is good), that will help protect the remote section of the deck in case the amp's power supply fails(some remote sections can have a high current draw in these situations). The best way is to use a relay when you have so many components to turn on.

Good pointer, best way to get a little more security. you can get small compact relays online that work well in this situation

Agreed if using multiple amps (4 or more) get a small relay to handle the load rather than straining the decks remote output, then it just becomes the relays trigger wire.
