Well Today I was bored and found some 0 gauge power wire in my room while cleaning and some nice battery terminals. I upgraded the stock ground with some 0 guage power wire and used the new terminal.

I was suppose to get the big 3 done a while ago by whom i bought the equipment from whom I bought all the equipment ( RE 12 XXX & RE 12.1) from him but never worked out.

Finally done summer semester and did some of it myself. I only had 4 guage power wire for the alternator to battery. (180 AMP ALT) Just replacing stock ground im guessing ive gained a dB or so cuz bass is way louder at same volume levels. and voltage will not drop past 13Volts when volume is really cranked at idle use to dip into 10s low 11,s.

I also am debating what to do with my cap. I have a 5 farad cap on the RE12.1. Im gonan rip it out and see what the voltage drop will be and decide wheter or not i should sell it or not.

The main questions I have for you guys are:

1) The stock Engine block ground, as seen circled in red in the second picture, also needs to be replaced as part of the "big 3 upgrade" however I am debating whether to use the stock locatiion with new wires or not. Does anyone reccomend a better engine block ground location ? I plan on using 0 gauge for that aswell.

2) I have a decent battery in the car its not stock but looks too tiny for me. It Puts out 650CCA its a MOtoMaster from Canadian Tire. I am looking to put a Optima Yellow Top in. Does anyone here know what the best size to put in is?

To all users currently having optima's under the hood which battery do you have and was it a drop in fit.

2) just go to a store that specializes in batteries.. they should know off the top of their head what will fit... and by the looks of it you have lots of room and likely the optima will have a higher cca than your current battery and take up the same amount of space... my car was a pain because there is a washer fluid reservoir mounted overtop of the battery (damn GM)... just look up a store and ask them what will fit... likely you can get an even bigger battery, looks like there is room... in my case my optimas bound to outlast my car..

I agree, just make sure its nice and clean before you mount it. With battery's the bigger the CCA the better!
