| Hi
I've got 2 amp..one 4X50wrms (2 X 25 amp)
and the other is 1X480wrms (2 X 20amp)
i have a 15feet 4gauge , and a distribution block that split in two 8gauge for both amp
My question is, what amp should my fuse connected between my battery and my distribution block ?
I have a 30Amp, but it just blown !
thanks ! |

| It should be at least 100amps to allow for maximum draw from your charging system. Fusing is to protect your wiring not the amps. I am not sure what a good fuse for 4 awg would be, but i would use something like 125amp. |

| Ok i think im okay with my 80amp...
But my problem is that my amplifier is often clipping, even if its input is almost 0, whats the problem ? Not enough power ? |

| Sounds more like the gain control for the amp is set too high.....have you tried setting it back to minimum to see if the noise goes away?

| well when my input is almost at 0, its ok,
but it begins to clip around 1/4...
(I have a clipping light on the amp.. so it helps me !!!)
and when its not clipping, its not loud enough...
what makes an amp clip ? not enough power ? bad setting? problem with amp ? |

More info about your setup is needed to give better answers....amp and speaker model #s, how the sub(s) is (are) wired, what size power and ground wires and how were they installed?.....there are a few variables......

| Eclipse XA 1000
Eclipse SW7200
connected in parallel... so its 1X480wrms and the sub is 500wrms
my wire:
4gauge from battery to a splitter (around 15-20feet)
split in 2 8gauge:
one for my orion 4channel amp
the other for my Eclipse
My orion is grounded with a 8gauge (2feet)
My Eclipse is grounded with a 4gauge(3-4feet)
My remote is from my unit (Alpine 9853 , splitted (tapped) to each amp... not a low gauge... don't know.. maybe 14 or 16 gauge ? |
