Not too farmiliar with newer Pioneer, but sound like it's for steering wheel controls...

I had a Pioneer a few years back and if I recall, that wire is still for the remote turn-on of the amplifier. I'm not 100% though..always best to check your manual (if you have it). Do you just have the harness or the HU as well? Should be able to get on-line specs/manuals from Pioneer.

if it's blue and white then it's the remote turn on

which is the wire that tells the amps when to power upwhen you turn the HU on, it doesn't supply power to them.

I take it by your last post that you don't have an amp installed?

well the ignition wire is a switched 12v wire. that's all a remote turn on wire is, just the remote wire is easily accesible behind the HU, and the ign. wire is tucked up by the steering cloumn... if you did in fact wire any switched 12v lead to the amp, it would do the same thing... the switched power going to the deck, has to get to the amp somehow, so that's why you need a remote tun on wire, either from the deck, or another source...

Now there are amp out there, that are becomming more and more common, that have signal sensing inputs, so that once they sense an audio signal in the RCA's it will turn the amp on, but I'd still prefer an actual turn on lead...
