k well there was a topic i posted in of someone elses about this problem but thought id make a new one so it gets more views.....

i just put in my new stereo 2 12" Audiobahn AW120T and Ultimate T3-500D amp. I used same ground spot, all same wires from previous install (4 gauge).

I pulled out the RCA's and it still popped when i turned it on. The gain and settings on amp did not seem to have much of a impact on how loud the pop was because i had everything down all the way and then it did a small pop but then the next time it did a loud pop.

Ive read that your ground is a common area so tomorrow i will check the ground again becuase it is -10 with a crazy wind and pitch dark outside lol. I have a bolt and the thing tight as hell and i used a grinder to grind a spot so i know there is absolutly no paint left on it

Could it be a bad ground somewere else on the car other than amp - chassis, like the battery - chassis wire?

Also is there any sure fire method to prove its the amp and is this real bad on the amp, how expesive of a fix, just give me all the advice you can i need it

O and also could it be caused by any of the power, ground, remote, speaker wire being close to each other.

Thanks,
Matt

The Ultimate amps do not have a quite power up/down circuit. So the pop is common on some setups. You may have to use a relay to stop this.
