Amp Wireing Question

Hey, well I have two amps set up in my trunk, one Legacy LA-290, and another Kenwood. ( I forget the model, 1800w )
So for the Remote wire, which will turn both amps on, can I run 2 wires, one from each amp, then connect them, and run that main wire up to my fuse box? Or do I have to do both seperatly.

for 2 amps you could split the remote wire, but more than 2, I would recommend a relay...

Yes. Normally a blue wire with a white stripe on all my decks so far (alpine, pioneer, kenwood).

You said you are running them to your fuse panel? You could, as mentioned, use a relay hooked up with your remote wire off your deck as a trigger. That way the amps would only be on when your deck is on. The only reason to use a relay is so you don't overdraw off your deck.

Oooook. I was told to run the Remote from my amp(s) right to my fuse pannel, to a spot that would remotly turn on, when the car is started.
So rather then that, I would run it to my deck ? And I can split both Remote wires from the amp, into one. ?
Thanks.

just run one wire to your first amp, then jump it to the second...like others said if ur only having 2...find someone with experience to help u with relays if needed

Not really... it's a fairly weak signal coming out of the deck, so if you had many amps all connected right off the back of the edck, the signal wouldn't be as strong, thus not turning all the amps on... you're basically boosting the 12v signal with the relay.

you just took what he said and added some techno babble lol.and a relay does not boost a signal, it just gets the power from a different source.

I was saying what the relay was used for, he was under the impression that having too many amps connected to the remote wire alone would 'overdraw' off the deck, which isn't the case, but the signal would be too weak to power multiple amplifiers, in excess of 2 on some HU's more on others...

2 different things all together.
