| I have everything figured out on how to put it in, other than how to hook my subs to my amp. I have a Pioneer PRS-D1100M amp, which does 600W RMS @ 2ohms, and 2 Alpine Type S, dual 4 ohms, 300W RMS each. How do I wire these suckers up? Series, parallel, individually? The wiring diagrams are just confusing me. Thanks guys. |

| you got the wrong subs. You need 2, 2 ohm dvc to get a total load of 2 ohms.
Trade them in.
OR, get another amp. put 1 on each sub.

| I was told that this amp would do those subs perfectly. The specs say 400W RMS @ 4 ohm, and 600 @ 2 ohm. I was told to get the 4 ohm subs because you could wire them up to run 2 ohms. |

| How do I wire them to run at 2 ohms? I can take a picture of the system if you could draw some wires in with MS paint or something? My dad's the electrical guy, I'm just a bodyman |

Just bring them back to the shop, they should trade them in.

| you can do it
http://www.the12volt.com/caraudio/woofer_configurations.asp
Option 1 (series/parallel) = 2 ohm load
Voice coils wired in series, speakers wired in parallel
Recommended Amplifier: Stable at 2 or 1 ohm mono

| That would work but my subs are 4ohm DVC's. Would it make much difference to underdrive them by 100 watts RMS each? Sound quality etc? My amp will do 1 ohm stable but I can't remember the spec for the wattage @1 ohm.
My subs are non returnable because I got the floor models for about $100 off each. Should I just get a different amp?

| Your subs are 100% an incorrect match to the amplifier. Take them back for a refund or trade towards subs that are matched to it. The subs to look at will both have single 4 ohm coils or 2 ohm dual coils, the latter being not too popular so find the single 4 ohm version. Failing that, take the amp back and find one that is either 4 ohm mono stable like the Pioneer PRSD2100T (same amount of power at 4 ohm as the PRSD1100M is at 2 ohm), or any 1 ohm mono amp if you want to keep the subs that you have now. Anyway you go about it, change the sub or change the amp. There is a smoking deal on the PRSD2000T right now, you can probably pick one up for under $400.00, that should be a sight lot cheaper than the amp you have now for the same amount of power and warranty. Only difference is that it is now a last years model.

1oms set up with put the info i would not do it
a 4oms just does not have the power
