I'm about to buy a 5 gallon paid of Contact cement for my install. What is the strongest stuff available? There is a company here in town that make's it, but they have soo many types, it's making it hard to choose. If anyone wants to go in on it with me, just send me a pm.

I'm in Cambridge. I don't need 5 gallons, but that all I can get if I want the best product. I have a few options, but all come in the big pail. No, I dont work for a shop.

just make sure its good at high temperature, as some would turn to mush or others would dry up (brittle like). there use to be one from Dap that was quite good. i would check with some auto upholstery place first..... see what they recommend. 5 gallon is a lot. unless your project is that big, otherwise it'll get thick (over a year in most case) which makes it hard to apply.

are you using a glue pot or just the good ol' brush?

Kevin uses it so he can glue himself to himself.

For your application, if it involves say uphostering a sub box, buy a can of 3M spray contact cement and call it a day.

Lepages don't last too long in the heat either... specially if you have neg contours in the vinyl. and most spray bomb acheisive just turn to mush in the heat... some last longer then other tho. but uaually are fine with carpets or trunk liner material.
