| I'll put my vote in too for replacing the rearfactory speakers with 4x10. No need to modify anything. Pioneer or eclipse make great 4x10 speakers for rear fill.
The important speakers are the front ones. My old, old cavalier had 3-1/2" dash speakers. I tried both the Kicker 2 way and the boston 2 way. I couldn't get enough sound up front so i added components in the doors as well. That worked great. I had a 2 ch amp for each side, but you could do that with a 4 ch for the front as well.
You're best off to get an amp that has variable hpf for each.
In my last car i went with 2, then 3 way for the dash and dedicated midbass for the doors.
good luck.
