Well i haven't seen an 08 escape on here. So ill document mine.

Amp, Infinity 7541a
Speakers, Morel Tempo Coax6
Sub, undecided yet. But a small ported 10in in back with about 250w RMS.

Plan is to put a 6.5 in the door where the 6x8 OEM is. Then mount the tweeter up higher close to the pillar. What do you guys think?

Question, do the crossovers get installed in the door as well? Any install advice would be great :]

Tweeters in the mirror panel would be hard with those controls there, I'd consider A pillar if you're putting them in that area. Really, if you have no processing I might want to keep the tweeter closer to the midbass.

I personally don't put crossovers in the doors because of the moisture, I'd rather have them in the kicks or further back in the car.

Definitely no crossovers in the door at all. Tweeters in the A pillar is looking to be a good idea.

Thanks, ya the mid will be low down by your knee... so maybe the tweeters should be in the door. Up high tho? Guess ill have to test it in various locations then mount it.

And newb, no processing. Just the HU and amp in the circut.

Some pics... Of the Morel install.

Pic 1 the Morels :]
Pic 2 Remove 3 phillips screws in red, remove the little plastic plate in green behind the handle, remove the mirror housing piece in blue, pry up the two spots in yellow, there will be a connector here for the buttons (window)
Pic 3 You can see the plastic plate and connection for the window here
Pic4 take this torx out, i think it was a 20
Now grab the door at the bottom and give it a quick yank, it should pop off
Pic 5 two points marked here need to come off, one is the door handle, other is the connection for the locks
Pic 6 Vapor barrier pealed back a bit
Pic 7 Started to deaden
Pic 8 Ran out of deaden (lol) will get some more later
Pic 9 Speaker installed (used an old mdf ring i made for something else

Should the vapor barrier just be left off?

No, get the vapour barrier back on and give those speakers the love they deserve. Get the rest of that door deadened on the inside of the outer skin. It is a big metal gong in there. I can hear it resonating all the way over here.
