with two amps to two different coils on the same sub any difference in output level between the two amps isn't going to hurt anything....


If he strapped the amps he would be bridging them in series.... the master/slave switch flips one amp out of phase and the slave amp runs at the same gain setting as the master....... if you are setting up amps in series and they wernt designed with a slave/master setup its best to have the gains matched fairly closley but you arn't going to hurt anything there either.... (but your signal may be a bit asymmetrical)


If you bridge two amps in parrallel where the outputs are hooked together on the same side of a load gain matching is important... otherwise one amp can feed signal directly into the other which will cause it to overheat..... the only resistance between the two outputs will be the load stabilizing resistors, and being out by a couple volts can let the magik smoke out of your amps rather quickly...
