installing an Alpine CDA 9885 into 07 VW GTI, where is the best place to tap into for the Red switched power (ignition) wire? Don't really want to go to the fuse box, wires don't go in w/ fuse to well.

why don't you just get a harness for the stock system? or is VW still make the stupid radios manual power?

Use a V-dub harness.... as long as you're not color-blind and/or cheap... this is the perfect install solution for you.... and make sure you pick up an antenna adapter too ...you'll need it
