| I prefer solder with heat shrink but if you use butt connectors and crimp them well and then wrap them in tape you should be fine. |

| Definitely use solder with heatshrink tubing. You will have a more professional look and it will last much longer.

| If you know how to solder (and do it right) then soldering is best.
If you don't know how to solder, then do butt connectors - it is better to use a simple butt connection than make a mistake and have a cold solder which will eventually let go.
But, if you know how to solder properly, that is the strongest route to take.

now thats ghetto! dont do that! | I dunno about being ghetto. For something that isn't going to have any pressure on it it's fine with tape. However, as stated numerous times, solder is better. |

| solder will last 50 years.
a good crimp will corrode in about 10 years depending on the weather.
the twist and tape will last 3-5 years. Shop want you to keep coming back.

| Also, since you are wiring 2 harnesses together, you don't have to make the connections in the car. You can make all of the connections on your work bench - its the perfect soldering environment - no crazy angles or dark dashboard cavities to burn your fingers in.
