Hi there...

Today, I installed a capacitor for the first time. All the connections are ok and all is working fine. But what puzzuled me, is that the volt indicator on the capacitor is always "ON". Should it turn itself off after sometimes ? If it stay's on all the time, will that drain my battery ?

Thank's for your time

I have a streetwires cap with a digital display. It stays lit for about 5 minutes after I get out of my car. Also, if I unlock my doors with my key fob, the display lights up. Almost seems that when it detects and current draw or change, it lights up. Shouldnt be anything to be too concerned about. Just keep an eye on your battery voltage..

From my experience with caps, the display would stay on if they is any change in voltage. If the voltage is constant for a few minutes (eg when you turn your car off and lock the doors), the display should shut off within a couple minutes...

Thank you for your help. I will let the capacitor connected for a while and monitor my tension daily. I'm sure that the display itself will not drain my battery alone, as it's not drawing enough power on it's own. But I'll monitor it closely. Just to make sure. In the end, I'll probably buy another Cap.
