Today I went to install my 3.5" Eclipse speakers into the dash of my 86 Buick Regal.

Wire connectors don't fit the small metal tabs on the speakers {properly)...
Can I buy new connectors at say, Canadian Tire? Or should I just stick them on, electrical tape them up and say Im good to go?

...just a suggestion, but make sure that you get the female spade connectors with the full jacketing on them..... the blue ones are usually the best.... if they seem a little loose... take the tipps of your wire strippers and/or pliers and ever so carefully squish down one side till you get a good snug fit... the reason for using fully insulated terminals is so that you eliminate the chance of grounding out.

...also wondering why you didn't consider buying speaker terminals from your local stereo shop?

Basically because my local car stereo shop won't be getting my business anytime soon. If they can't be bothered to call back, then too bad. I'll go to crappy tire for small things, and another car stereo shop, that's a little further for my other speakers that I need.

What exactly are you referring to?

The Princess Auto post made earlier? If so, I'm not driving 2 1/2 hours to get an item that will cost a couple of bucks. 'Us country folk don't like to make special trips ya know?'
