just bought a JL for my girl i put it in her integra type-R...its being powered by a V12 Alpine..all the wiring is fine...but it sounds pretty weak...sounds like a fn car speaker...this thing should fn POUND!!!!
any help

is the amp set up properly?....if it sounds like a speaker it might be set on high pass filter as opposed to low pass filter...set it there and set the gain properly...

and it might be a stupid question, but is the sub in a box?...never know, gotta ask, seen some weird things.

all the settings are fine.. i tried messing with them but it just gets distorted .....thats what happens when u buy it from a guy on the side of the road...damn ..thanks though ill try to figure it out???can it be anything else..yes sub is in box..da.......my girlfreinds pissedshe dropped a couple of hundred on it too..my fn nuts are hangin dude!!!!!!!!!!!!

i geuss thats what u get wen u buy stolen gear.

is it a dual voice coil sub with each coil wired diffrently?...cuz that could screw it up too.

or mabey the subs fried or amps pooched....whats the models of them?

well not literally on the side of the road..haha..my friends..friend bought it..I thought it was hot too at first and didnt want it..but then he showed me the bill..he bought it at some audio store in Monteral for like almost $2000....he said he was selling his car..and wanted to sell it so I offered him $800...and a carbon fibre hood..and he agreed!!..but know it doesnt work!!!!and i cant find him...im jus going to bring it to a audio store to check it..throw them 50bucks...whatever..my girl just going to have to for now...lol

Check the head unit. i had a customer with pretty much the same problem. Spent almost an hour trying all these different things. Turns out, the sub out on the deck was turned almost all the way off.
