how much power for type-r components?

just got a set of type-r components 6.5" SPR-17LS. i think they are last years model.

anybody running these? how much power are you feeding them? should i just go with rated 70rms per channel or will they benifit if i give them more power? how do they handle the extra power? i'm worried about them staying clean. i was thinking about giving them 100rms each channel. how would that work out?

100 watts rms will work fine.
