Where would be the best place to mout xovers for a component system in this car. I think puting them inside the door would be bad becuase of moisture.

Any suggestions?

Not in the door. Anywhere dry.

I did them under the seats once.
Way back, my 1st cavalier, I had the mounted on the inside of the doors, drill holes in the plastic panel to bring cables in and out.
My last Cavalier, I did them in the trunk, near the amps.
But then i ripped that all out and got an active crossover.

when i had my integra i mounted the crossovers inside the door panels and i never had any issues
as long as you have a proper moisture barrier in your doors it should be fine. if you are really concerned, mount them under the front seats or in the trunk

Hmm, a 6.5 set. Will that even fit inside your door man? I had my 4x6 bracket taken out and I had to cut a bigger hole to put a 5 1/4 set in there. I'm not sure if there would be enough clearence for a magnet. But I could be wrong .

And sure puting them under the dash is a good idea too =).

matt_p, you're gonna have to cut out some metal from the door . Best to take it to a shop if you don't have to the tools or don't wanna mess it up.

SOOO funny story... i feel like an ass that wasted tons of money!! haha

so i go out today n im like hey lets take these door panels off and see what im going to have to do.... so im takin this door panel off and bam i find a Alpine type S 250 watt 6 1/2 coaxial!! and here this nasty snaping sound i was hearing was the speaker hitting the door panel and the thing isnt a shitty blown 4x6 that i thought it was haha ..... so as long as my mounting depth on my macrom's are not any more than its going to be simple .........

so here is a question... what is better the 250 watt type s coaxials in there or the 220 watt macrom M2S.61 components i just bought.... i think the macroms would be better but im not sure what i should do now cuz my friend just said he would give me what i paid for the macrom gear i just picked up if i wanted

o yea and i expected to cut metal, but my dad has a welding shop with everything i need and ive got experience with metal work(Y) so im sure i could have done it

You for a 6 1/2 speaker in your door panel? Sweet! How is that being held in there. I thought a magnet from a 6 1/2 wouldn't fit in there.

Oh yeah...you should go with the component set and not the coaxal set .
