| I'm doin a stereo install on my civic and i have custom fiberglass pods made up in the rear panels. What i have is a Fusion 6.5 component set goin in them. What i would like to do is have the 6.5 driver mounted inverted so the basket is showing. Does any one know how much this is going to affect the sound quality of the speaker? |

| won't affect the speaker at all, if the enclosure was made with the displacement of the driver in mind, it will affect that, the enclosure will be bigger.
you just have to reverse the polarity on the speakers if you're inverting them.

| since its a component set, this should be interesting... where does the tweeter go?
if you mount the mid inverted, you will loose midrange. it will work as a midbass or something, but...
point is, dont invert speakers, other than subs. that is if you care about any sound, if just for the show, whatever. |

| not going to work at all! bad idea, it does not affect subs because of the frequencys that they play, and even some subs in certain installations are plaged with funny noises. |

| not entirely true for all speakers, I've seen, and heard inverted midbass and midranges sound just fine inverted...also some that didn't work at all.
(not sure, but I think your friend "brooksie" did it and said it sounded fine)...could be wrong however.
