Hi, I am a newb to all this. I just picked up some gear from a buddy. 2 Kicker 8 inch subs, in a center console box. 1 Sony XM554ZR 600 w amp, 1 Kenwood KAC-849 600 w amp, 1 Kenwood KAC-729S 600 w amp, Alpine CDA 9851 deck, I purchased Kaption 5.25 150w, and Kaption 6x9 200w. We installed today, having a tough time setting levels and getting it to sound right. I am running the Sony for the subs, the 849 for the 6x9's, and the 729S for the 5.25's. Sounds like a popping on the one 5.25. Just curious if I should change which amp drives which speaker, How to set levels, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated

if you hear popping and its only from one? then check the polarity (pos and neg) try switching them see if that helps...

also take the bass away from them using the x-over settings on the amp.

try that and see what happens.

I guess something else to ask is due to me having keyless entry and power locks does the new deck hamper them? Since we got the install done my remote wont unlock doors, or my door lock button on the doors lock or un lock

thats really odd it should not effect them at all... did you use a kit to put the deck in or dod you splice and wire everything? you may have tagged a wire for the keyless entry or blown a fuse for your power locks.

^ agreed a wiring issue, look for a power wire issue

I am betting the sound is independent of engine speed and you can count the pops

if it changes with engine speed it is also a power supply issue just a different type of problem

go back in and see what you can do to undo the fubar

I don't know what your problem is, but I'll bet it's hard to pronounce.

Thanks guys, what about arrangment of amps? Should I change it around, run the subs of two of them and both 6x9 and 5.25 off the other. And I am really new to setting up amps what about input sensitivity. The pops I think were because teh amp for it had the lpf switched on, I have since changed that. I cant seem to turn up the volume on the deck to loud with out causing the speaker to pop(I think blown). Because of that I am not happy with sound. Thats why I am asking abou level settings and changing amp arrrangments.
