I just bought a 2003 Acura 1.7EL. However, I am having a hell of a time removing the factory CD Player. I have searched the internet and found some similar guides but nothing that works for my interior.

If anyone has experience with this car I would greatly appreciate any tips or help getting the factory unit out, as I have spent about 3 hours now trying to get it out without wrecking the console or dash....

Just for reference, here is a link to a great page on how to remove the factory head unit for a 2004 1.7EL

Ya, it was definitely a pain in the ass install, but I finally got it done. Now I have to build a new box because my old one is too big for my new trunk. :^(

I changed the console so that I can just pull it out from the dash without removing everything over again just in case i do need to alter something. Because my head unit has a seperate 'brain' in the trunk that is where it is grounded.

grounding both would be a good choice to reduce noise production should have a bolt in the back of both unit

What's the deal with Honda products these days anyway? They used to be the vehicle of choice for us to work on. Now, they're a pain in the ass!

Already did. Haha. That is actually where I found the link that I posted. I am loving my new car so far. Much better on gas than what I used to have.
