| I currently have a Alpine IDA-X100 and I'm adding:
-Alpine PXA-H100 + Alpine KTX-H100 IMPRINT SOUND
-PDX-4.100
-SPX-17REF
-PDX-1.1000
-SWX-1243D
Here are my questions:
1. I will sound deaden the doors for sure but am I ok to mount the 6.5" to the plastic baffle that the car comes with if I put some deadner on first? Or should I make a piece out of MDF to mount the speaker to?
2. I will be making tweater pods on my A-Pillars and aiming them towards the glass, sound about right?
3. For the Crossovers for the front components, should this be mounted in the door as close to the speakers as possible or is it ok to mount near the amp in the trunk?
4. 16 gauge speaker wire good enough to run from the amp to the crossover and from crossover to speakers?
5. To get the best SQ, should I make a sealed box for the sub and aim it towards the front and block off the trunk? Or aim it towards the rear?
6. Is welding cable really ok to use for power and ground? Is the #4/0 welding cable equivalent to 0/1 gauge audio cable? I want to run 0 gauge power and ground from the battery to distribution blocks and then 4 gauge to the amps.
That's all for now I think.
Thanks,
Jay |

| 1, I'd make stiffer rings if it were me and possible.
2, I prefer mine a little more on axis, but your way "can" work.
3, Trunk mounting is fine.
4, 16awg will be fine
5, Make the box then try it in all different positions before securing it.
6, Welding cable has always worked fine for me, I use the generic 1/0 and it have never let me down.

| Ok, I'll try that, I took my door panel apart last night...only to notice whoever the dealership used to tint the windows didn't know what they were doing and used a screw driver to pry it off and scratched up the paint, good thing it's on the inside.
Anyways, this morning just with the stock tweater I played with it moving it around and you can tell a difference, I have a little triangle piece on the door just below the A-Pillar and it sounded good from there, so when I get the new speakers installed I'll play with the tweets before mounting then permanently.
Now I just have to find some welding cable and some distribution blocks and I'll be golden. |

| that's called the sail and is a good location in a lot of cars.
I have some 1/0 welding cable but it's not overly long, if you tell me how long you need I'll measure it, it ran from my alt to my trunk in an intrepid so it might work, I also have a fused power distribution block with led display brand new if you're interested, it's a tsunami, I can't find the exact one on the net but I will take pics if you're interested.
prices will be more than fair I assure you,.

| Are the LED's blue? Sure, PM me with a price and a pic of the disti block. I need to do Big 3 in 1/0 anyways so even if it wasn't long enough to get to the trunk I could use it if good price. |
