I think its usually more the door that freezes rather than the actuator itself. But if you live in an area that has a "wet" cold (Ontario) rather than a "dry" (Saskatchewan), that extra moitsure in the air can cause some problems. If you don't have a garage you can park the vehicle in to dry it out after any washes/rain/snow, than it may not be the best idea.

^ When I lived in freezing hell I used to always make sure to spray liberal amounts of WD40 into the door lock key holes after a wash. Seemed to help.

I agree Fat ,It's the condensation formed at the door seal that will make a door stick, there is a silicone spray to use on rubber parts to keep them from squeeling etc..,

WD40 is the WORST thing you can put into a lock, MY mom worked with a locksmith for 7 years, and saw a LOT of locks gummed up by WD40. it works great for a while, but then it turns into a sticky, gooey load. a better product is "Slick and Shine" which they sell @ home hardware, it's a teflon spray that doesn't gum up.

Had the car for 6 years. Never had a problem. I think the problem with WD40 is when you STOP using it...
