hey i am pretty sure i know how to wire a cap. but iwant to make sure so i don't screw it up.. if anyoen can send me a website to look at or email me a diagram... my email is gsonnenburg@cogeco.ca all help would be much apretiated

Power wire from battery to cap + terminal. Power wire from cap + terminal to amp + terminal.

Ground the - terminal of the cap.

I have never used a cap because I have a dedicated battery right next to the amps. Anyway, isn't there some precautions with using a cap..... as in using a resistor to discharge or charge the cap. That info might be helpful as well. I dunno.......

I've used a cap before, and I noticed more of a difference in my spark plugs than in my subs.

that being said, keep your eyes open for something about putting caps in series with subs.

thanks for all the help guys ...but a sudden turn for the worse on my truck means money had to go into fixing it rather than into a cap. ....but thanks for all the help and i will use it is the future wehn i can afford a cap. again

BAH! That's just so you don't get a big nasty scar on the pretty gold from the spark

Use a test light - clip to the power wire, tip to the cap. When the light dims out it's all good.

Here is another method commonly used. - to ground and + to unused terminal on + distro block, no need for the "in" and "out" if you have a distro block.
