Hmmm..
I have a couple of questions for you before I give you some things to look into.

Is this happening only at high output levels?
What type & size enclosure is the woofer in?
How do you have the voice coils wired?
Are you using the crossover in the amplifier or something else?

Let me know & I'll see if I can help you.

#1. Yes
#2. Bandpass 2widex1.5deepx1high
#3. They said DVC 4ohm so I wired it into a 2 ohm load into a mrd-m605
#4. Yes the crossover was set at 85 hz at a 25db slope. It was only on a +4 db gain also.

Defintely it's the enclosure.

These subwoofers are designed specifically for small sealed & ported enclosures from 0.3 to 1.25 cu ft. Your enclosure (which measures 4.5 cu ft is WAY too large).

Get a hold of a smaller sealed or ported enclosure & not only will the sub perform properly, you'll also get a whole lot of trunk space back!

Are you dealing with an authorized Pioneer retailer in Kamloops? If so, they will have all the TS-W1500SPL specifications to get your the correct enclosure. If not, let me know & I'll get you the recommended enclosure chart.

I thought you had 2 questions?

And the bandpass looks to be 3cuft overall so it's not THAT far over spec that the woofer should be buckling... Isn't this Pioneer's heavy duty SPL woofer?
