Hey guys, I need to confirm how to install my ps2 in my car. I plan on installing it using an inverter. My concern is that my inverter only has a lighter plug.

Is it safe to cut the end off and use some sort of connecting system to splice into my lighter wires just before the lighter socket harness? Will I blow my car up? haha

If it helps, my car is a 94 Integra.

If this isnt right, what is? Please keep techy stuff to a minimum or explain, I'm not very knowledgeable when it comes to power and electronics. I know my basic way round, but thats about it. Btw, if my idea is ok, whats the best way to splice in? basic clamps?

I found this site, and it confirmed my idea will work to a certain degree, but he did not cut his male plug off, it had wires built in.

My major concern is fuses, will I need them if I bypass the lighter socket? how would I install one if I need one.

Just one other idea ill throw in.

Would it just be easier to buy a standalone lighter socket and splice that into the original wires? That way I dont really need to cut anything.

this is what I found.

I usually go right to the battery with a fuse a few inches from the terminal, and ground right to the body.
