Hy guys I have a 1989 Ford Taurus SHO and I recently installed a new cd player and the front 4 speakers never worked so I spent all day running new 16 gauge speaker wire because the old stuff was garbage so now the front 4 work fine but my back 5x7's dont work because they were powered by a factory amplifier and now I dont know how to hook it up to my Clarion DXZ535 headunit anyone have any suggestions or should I just buy a new speaker amp and if I do that I dont know how I run new power wire and also how a run 2 remote wires do I need to splice them into 2 or what thanks for all the help guys.

You can choose to either integrate the factory amp or bypass it completely.
Metra makes both wire kits & makes the job easy.
See the guys down at Duncan Sound Decisions (AVU), they should be able to help you out.

Funny to see this. I just finished (well work in progress) an install on my 91 Explorer. It had like the Taurus the factory amps and the like. I had chosen to keep the factory amps. I had upgraided the head unit and now all the speakers/ sub. Just go and get the right adapter that uses the amp. http://www.installdr.com/Harnesses/Ford-Wiring.pdf This may help you.
I'm very much enjoying the result and it cost much less than new amp wiring ect.
