What happens if I would run a 400Wrms sub with a 300Wrms amp?

And

I DID NOT KNOW MY SUBS WERE 4ohms. I ran two 4ohm subs on an amp that was unable to handle a 2ohm load for about 5 minutes. All the sudden they just stopped and i was like WTF! I checked my fuses and found out i had blown one.
QUESTION---Is it possible that i did any major harm to my amp? Right now i am running just one of the subs and it works good.

If you want to know how i could be so stupid and not know the resistance of my subs this is the story: There were some eclipse 300Wrms subs on sale at our local car audio dealer. My friend bought two and a few days later i went and bought one of WHAT I THOUGHT WAS THE SAME SUBWOOFER. I noticed it was an 8ohm sub and i thought, cool i can buy another one and get a 4ohm load on my amp. During this period my friend bought some new subs and wanted to sell me his old eclipse subwoofers that i was gonna buy anyways. So I bought both of his (since they were more broken in than mine) and gave him mine and $70. I thought they were 8ohms since my sub was 8 ohms and got them all hooked up and it was sounden kinda wierd then all the suddon NO SOUND. Yah, that is the story.

your amp probly could handle a 2 ohm load. and if it cant it probly went into protect. you could of doen the amp harm, but if it was any desent qualety, i doubt it. hook the one working sub up to the amp and see if it still works.

under powering your subs isn't the end of the world, but it is better to put to much power to a sub rather than not enough. If you want to run both subs just run them in parallel that way your amp will see an 8 ohm load, this will help your amp to run cooler and more eficiant.
