I have an alpine x12, and noticed that there is wire floating around on the inside of the basket in the big hole in the center... is this normal? or is something busted in there...

reason i ask is cause my sub wasn't sounding that good today

no, the sub is toast, it's gonna rattle until it completly unwinds, My guess is you have 1 functioning coil right now only.

I'll try that before i sell it as a boat anchor. most people won't pay much for a boat anchor anyways, no matter how pretty it is

Did you buy it used? Why not take it back under warranty?

bought it new... just talked to musicworx, and they said bring it in... they'll try to warranty it for me... so as long as its not my fault, theres no problem.
